Counseling
Counselors Corner-
The EMS School Counseling Department wishes to extend a warm welcome to the new East Middle School. Throughout this school year, we will share information and resources related to supporting the academic, social/emotional and career needs and interests of our students.
One of our first activities this school year is to partner with the teachers, students, staff and administration to help build strong relationships to create an environment where everyone feels safe, welcome and excited to learn. We will also strive to identify and address any barriers that impede our positive school environment and will work to promote proactive strategies and activities that empower our students to be a part of creating a positive and supportive school community.
Counselors will partner with the classroom teachers to deliver a series of 4 FLEX lessons focused on Respect, Responsibility and Relationships. We will be focusing on one essential question -
“What’s Your Why?”. We believe that when a person can identify their “why” it promotes self- awareness and helps the person focus on their goals, achievements and actions that will help them achieve their goal.
We’d like to share a little bit about ourselves and look forward to being a partner in your child’s education.
